It was recently rumoured from the Daniel Amos website, that a double disc tribute was being put together. An impressive roster of artists have committed songs to this project, among them our guests for today, The Banos. In studio we have all of the original members. Welcome. So I guess the first question is how did you get involved in this project, and why did you choose I Love You? (silence) Dano: Um, when Jevon first approached us, he said, “Hey mumble mumble 19.” So I thought he wanted us to do that Steely Dan song, so we figured sure we’ll do that. When we all arrived at the studio we found out that we were supposed to do this obscure David Anus song. Stano: That’s Daniel Anus, stupid. Dano: Sorry, Daniel Amish I mean. Anyway we heard the song, and thought it was pretty good. Host: I see, so you’d never heard of Daniel Amos before? Stano: I’d heard of him, but we’d never met him before. Host: I’ve heard your track, and it’s a pretty stripped version. I’m wondering how it is you landed on doing an acoustic version? Jano: That was partly my fault. I got my dates mixed up, and never made it to the session. So they were left without a drummer. I also had Dano’s electric guitars in the trunk of the car. Dano: Ass. Anyway we spend the say in the studio, and plunked it down. I think it turned out okay. Too bad Vano didn’t buy new strings, his bass sounded out of tune and awful. Winston did an okay job recording, but at times things are muddy or distorted. Vano: Hey, I resemble that remark. (sniff) Whoops, sorry about that. (Dano, and Jano waving their hands in front of their noses) Host: (coughing) Oh, look at the time, that’s all the time we have for this edition of the Crock and Religion Radio Show. Our special guests today have been The Banos, and we’ve been talking about the Daniel Amos tribute disc which will be available soon. That’s all for this show, take care, and be good. Stano: I’m wearing a dress today.
