This Is The Way Love Is - Song Clip
|
First off- I knew there is no way that I could approach this tune in a 7s fashion. They ROCK!- and I only rock while listening thru the speakers-or in my head. I have never been an electric player, and now I’m too dang old. This version came about when the fruity loop file got screwed up- and I couldn’t export it at the right bpm. It came out super fast. So I exported the file, and stretched it to be the right length of time –using Goldwave. It kept the pitch, but turned the little ting ting of the rider cymbal into a bell, and all the tom toms sounded like they were done with a brush. So –anyway, the song then took on a sort of jazz improv sound. The harmonics try to beef it up, and the electric buzz notes are just a sample- so its basically acoustic guitar and vocal over a loop. I was amazed to see that I ended up in the same key- that was purely an accident, and I was playing on strings that were only hours old, and they squeaked like the dickens- but then, so do I. |

The original has many of the lyrics just spoken- I chose to give them a bit of melody, and clarity also- you can hardly hear what Mike’s saying on parts of the studio version. The lyrics are what drive the version I did- the 7’s tune crunches with power chords and spicy leads- I simply can’t do that. |
| I love the message of the tune-Gods love toward us is so lopsided - we give a farthing for the “Love like Gold” we receive. My hope is for that idea to come through when listening. |
